Welcome

Thank you for visiting my campaign web site; I appreciate that you have taken your time to learn more about me and what I stand for.  My wife, Lisa, and I have been married for over 14 years and we have three children.  I am currently employed as a counselor at the juvenile correctional/treatment facility KidsPeace Mesabi Academy in Buhl.  I am a licensed minister with a Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry and have recently completed a Master’s of Business Administration degree. 

I am pro-life, pro-second amendment, and I support a well-funded military.  Sensible government is what our state and country need.  We, as Minnesotans, should be responsible for our own lives, and the government should not intrude in our lives in areas outside of its domain.  I also believe that private business can provide better products and services than can the government, and the free market should lead the way to a prosperous economy in Minnesota.

This state is in financial trouble and serious measures need to be addressed to fix it.  Our budget deficit is projected to be well over 5 billion dollars over the next few years and politicians seem to feel that simple math and accounting does not apply to government.  I disagree.  If I were unable to pay my bills, I would have to cut other areas of my personal budget to compensate.  Government needs to cut spending; however, Minnesota is following suit with the Federal government by proposing significant spending increases.  Sensible government is essential in these economic times, and we cannot afford huge spending increases that are currently being debated in the legislature.

It took serious thought about the issues impacting my family, as well as the Iron Range, for me to decide to run for public office.  I am excited about the possibility of showing Northlanders how much more we agree than disagree about the issues. Conservative values are what we all stand for.  Please help send me to St. Paul so that together we can make Minnesota government spending sensible again.
